7th Jan 2022

Delighted to have the first 2020 releases from Skyborry Cider & Perry. On their tenth anniversary they have chosen to label all of the wines with very classic looking text inspired by the cru Beaujolais of Lapierre & Foillard. For now we have; Bronwen, a familiar tasting blend from the orchard which usually goes into the Rural Method & Pommage and Canon Pyon, a lovely Perry from very old trees (over 200 years old) very rounded and wine-like, drinking well not but certainly age-worthy.

We also have new Gamay from Romain Des Grottes. In time for dry January his delicious soft drink, L'Antidote. And two of his 2021 wines, Brut De Cuve & Truc De Buve. Separated by a days maceration they are both angular, bright light reds best to drink chilled. 2021 looks like a lovely vintage for him, though it was small and these two wines clocking in at 10% are already very enjoyable.
