La Derniere Goutte La baleine ivre (the drunken whale) 2017
Originating from the Hautes-Alpes, Cyrille has had various careers and through the love of wine has found his way to becoming a winemaker. He's worked previously a ski instructor, a fruit picker and has picked grapes which is how he landed in Beaujolais. He is an warm character always with a cheeky smile, and we're so excited to be working with him. He started winemaking working under Jean-Claude Lapalu, and in 2012 he produced his first vintage. He has 5 hectares of old and young Gamay vines planted on a mix of pink granite, sand, clay and silex soils and located on the edge of Brouilly.
30-year-old vines, eight-day maceration whole bunch. Clean, juicy glou-glou full with cherry, lots of citrus and ginger.
